Sarah & Matthew: Barn & Co Mornington Peninsula Wedding

One of the most amazing aspects of wedding photography is how it allows me to connect with so many different couples or in this case, reconnect. Sarah & I were primary school friends and spent many days playing together so when she reached out to photograph her wedding with Matt, well it was a beautiful blast from the past.

I loved their wedding at Barn & Co on the Mornington Peninsula and getting to find out about their lives together, including their funny engagement story. ”Matthew had gotten me a beautiful hot air ballooning gift voucher as a Christmas gift over the Yarra Valley and had booked for us to enjoy a weekend away at Balgownie Winery Estate up there over the labour day long weekend. After a very early morning and scenic flight we landed in the middle of a field where he had a stranger taking photos of us whilst the balloon deflated. He bent down and popped the question (all whilst the ring had come loose in its box and fell out as he opened it.”

It’s a good thing that the ring didn’t fall out mid flight but I can’t imagine anything more exhilarating than being in a hot air balloon and the nerves he must have felt knowing that he was about to ask Sarah the big question!
